Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris,
Sparkling,
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose 2007 Pinot Gris Tasting Notes Colour: Pale Straw Green.Nose: Fragrant Pear, Herb Garden, Lychee.Palate: Bright, mouth filling without being to hot or broad. Sprightly acidity, lingering lychee.Vintage Notes: This is a surprisingly good wine from a fairly average year. 2007 was a very dry year with warm ripening conditions. Fruit ripened quickly and often sugar would race ahead of flavour development leading to unbalanced wines. Despite these difficulties site selection proved that some vineyards would fair much better than others.Winemaking: Whole bunch pressed, cool long ferment in tank with 10% barrel ferment blended in. Bottled early spring 07. These wines need approx 6 months in bottle to start to show their true greatness. From then onwards they continue to improve for several years.Final Comments: The strength of this wine lies in the fruit from which it was made. The Cloudbreak site proved from the very first crop that the fruit grown here was exceptional.
