Pinot Noir,
Pinot Gris,
Sparkling,
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose 2007 Pinot Noir Tasting Notes Colour: Bright, deep & intense red hue.Nose: Floral, cherry, plum with great pinosity.Palate: Bright, mouth filling without being to hot or broad. Sprightly acidity lingering red berry fruits.Vintage Notes: This is a surprisingly good wine from a fairly average year. 2007 was a very dry year with warm ripening conditions. Fruit ripened quickly and often sugar would race ahead of flavour development leading to unbalanced wines. Despite these difficulties site selection proved that some vineyards would fair much better than others.Winemaking: Whole berry ferment with no stalks included. Ferment peaked around 32 degrees and was plunged four times a day for ten days. Due to the warm year MLF proceeded rapidly on lees. The wine was subsequently racked, sulphured and acid adjusted well before the cold of the Adelaide Hills winter set in. After 8 months in small French oak casks the wine was blended and egg white fined in the tradition of many great burgundian reds.Final Comments: This wine is considered by its makers to be the best Cloudbreak Pinot to date. It displays great intensity and is a true pleasure to drink.
